Non-profit organizations, now more than ever, rely on a variety of ways to meet their mission, goals, and objectives. Therefore, volunteers and through financial supports, are a major part of how we serve the African community. At the African PAC, we value your involvement and support. By getting involved, you can help us reach our goals and pursue our mission.
Important Note: We use an independent and secure web site to process all of your online tax deductible donations and purchases. While financial supports may be made at any time using a variety of sources, African PAC, Inc. may be constrained by IRS laws to limit the fair market value of the goods and services provided to financial contributors, in return for their generosity, to no more than an IRS determined percentage of such contributions.
Benefits of Getting Involved: In recognition of some financial supports and contributions, we acknowledge contributors in slide presentations, event program booklets, on our web site, etc. At its sole discretion, the African PAC can include the company’s or group’s logo in its acknowledgment.

As a Paid Member: This is one of the cornerstones upon which our organization was founded. As a paid member, you have the opportunity to vote on or help shape our policies, programs, and services. You also get advance information on job opportunities, meet others in the community, as well as professionals, business owners, industry and government leaders, and attend African PAC sponsored events.

You can also pay your annual membership dues at any Bank of America. Simply make your check payable to African PAC and write our Tax ID# on the memo portion of your check; and present the check to any Teller at any Bank of America banking center.
There is a non-refundable Application Fee of $10 for all new accounts. Memberships are renewable annually, without a new application fee. Membership is not granted until we have received all fees and/or annual dues.
As a Volunteer: We would appreciate your interest in using your skills, time, and energy to play an active role in the African community. Besides enjoying great networking opportunities, our dedicated volunteers are also honored through a Volunteer Recognition Program. This method of participating in African PAC is also a good way to get to know the organization. Students can earn credits, and professionals can get their corporations to match their contributions towards our organizational efforts - check with your employer for its annual corporate matching fund campaigns.
All volunteers are required to complete a Profile Form and shall consent to abide by our Volunteer Agreement.
Volunteers may be asked to accept total or partial responsibility for performing assigned tasks, depending on the complexity, time constraints, interests and abilities. These might include, but are not limited to:
- Developing or updating mailing lists
- Routine clerical duties
- Research and Analysis
- Project support
- Meeting or event planning and/or coordination
- Development of grant proposals or donor campaigns
As an Affiliate Group: You have two choices in this category - either as a dues paying affiliate or an observer group in solidarity with the African PAC concept.
Dues paying affiliate organizations have opportunities to delegate their members to vote on African PAC issues brought to a vote. Generally the leader of such group will be the one authorized to vote, by default, unless the group designates otherwise.
Observer organizations join without cost, but cannot vote on issues. They are invited to share and exchange information and/or participate in activities or projects between the African PAC network and the affiliate group’s membership.
As a Sponsor: You will be able to fund all or a fraction of the cost of hosting our dinner/lunch meetings or special events or select programs. Examples of programs or projects that require sponsorship include supporting our Scholarship funds or Mentoring programs. You can pay in one lump sum or fulfill your pledges over a period of time.
There are different levels of sponsorship available: Please consider one of the options below.

When the sponsorship is for given events (e.g., conferences and banquets), the sponsor gets chairs and/or tables reserved for them, depending on the type of sponsorship.
As a Philanthropist or Donor: No organization can be effective if it does not have adequate resources to meet its needs. Besides government and foundation grants, over 60% of donations to non-profit organizations in the United States come from individuals.
We are not ashamed of our needs. You can donate the following items:

All philanthropic gestures are acknowledged, in writing, for your IRS record. Anonymous donations will not be revealed in program booklets or announcements.
Advertisements are paid information used by individuals, organizations, and companies to promote themselves and/or their products and services. African PAC negotiates or can determine the location of advertisements on its web site or event brochures.
Advertisements are posted on our web sites (with/without link) or published in an applicable event program booklet. All advertisements must be prepaid before posting or at least two weeks prior to an event date. You can advertise for a single period or event, or for an extended period.
Discounts (up to 10%) are given to other non-profit or student organizations and to those who advertise for three (3) months or more.
By accepting any form of advertisement, the African PAC, Inc. shall not be misconstrued to have endorsed the advertiser’s company, products, or services. And the African PAC organization reserves the right to: (a) accept only advertisements that are germane to African community interests; (b) limit the amount of concurrent advertisements; and/or (c) defer or refuse or cancel advertisements.

Fundraising: If leadership is what it takes to steer an organization in a given direction, monetary infusion is the fuel needed to keep the engine and wheels of an organization in motion.
While we don’t know who you know, it is our belief that through your personal influence, you can help us make contact with a designated community, corporation, foundation, or individuals. History has shown that people donate because others who they know had served as catalysts.
